Making things work for us.

So... in my quest through life, I seem to be trusting the Universe (God) more and learning harsh lessons in very short spaces of time. One of those biggest lessons is that the world or no one in it owes us anything. Therefore it is only smart that we spend time with ourselves (probably frightening for some persons) and try our outmost best to make the resources we have around us work best for us.

before you label me as an idealist, lets travel down a couple more lines. Life is short, yeah, and so it only makes sense we make the best of it before its all gone and we come back as an ant or something; limited to a life of work and toil. Mix things up a bit, live free, be spontaneous, do something that makes YOU happy.

Yes life is FULL of challenges and road blocks and Lord only knows what else, but probably its time to take a different approach to this big ole ball ah life. As opposed to focusing solely on the destination, its full time some of us concentrated on the journey instead. There are a million and one simple things to appreciate and admire along the way to that big corner lot in Stony Hill or that modern condo in Miami.

Regardless of our personal aspirations, we all encounter of our struggles in various ways. If I've been rambling on too much and you're YET to get the point of this blog post-------- point is: Take control of your own life and try to make what you have work for you!
Happy Wednesday folks.
and don't forget, Today's the Day.

I am me! Flawed and imperfect.I accept the things I cannot change and I am finding the courage to change the things I can and to be a better me, and to better affect the persons around me. Randy Richards

Girls need help understanding and overcoming their issues of self doubt. Its time we offered to help them.Hold their hands, be strong for them so they in turn can become strong and confident women of change.

Coming out event!

So, it finally came and went. Colour ME Mine Campaign was unveiled to the public for the first time today. As the final lap of my final year project this evening was the opening of a showcase of the School of Art's most recent emerging talent.

After an entire year of development, sweat and a few tears here and there. It's finally over.Well. the easier part anyway. Now it is up to me to keep this passion alive and while I try to keep my sanity trying to adjust in the normal world(outside the safe haven of art school); I have to try and seek sponsorship to at least launch the campaign. I also have to keep researching and thoroughly investigating the aspects of their culture and seek to always stay within that field.
Dis sure is ain't not gonna be easy. But I assure you that from just the reviews tonight(or last night rather, since it's 3:23), I have gained motivation for maybe another six months. It was well received by the public and VERY appreciated on my part.

Self Acceptance is tricky in this world

Short film of Insecurities

Colour Me Mine Campaign

This academic year will be my last (God's will) at the local art college that I attend. At the end of this time I would have acquired my Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with Visual Communications being my major. In our last year, we are awarded the opportunity to put on what is called a "Final Year show" as a group. We all choose an area of interest and for several months we work on this labour of love, crafting and in our case designing, to the best of our abilities.
I have chosen a vehicle that will hopefully bring about some change in our society. Young girls grow up to be very unsure of themselves based on what the 'society' feeds them. Their minds are filled with all these concepts of what they should be and how they should react, and there is no real medium constantly persuading them to think for themselves and determine who they will be based on positive influences.
This video I think is a good start and as my project grows from nothing but a mere thought into a full fledged campaign, I will post my progress.

Be the QUEEN you were called to be!

Who is a Queen? This is a woman regarded as excellent or outstanding of its kind. In chess, a queen is the most powerful chess piece that each player has, able to move any number of unobstructed squares in any direction.

The words excellent, outstanding and powerful all stand out. A QUEEN is important. And so are you. Every girl has the right to choose her own destiny. Every girl has the right to take a stand and exercise excellence and power. When you chose your own destiny. When u chose excellence for you future, you are a QUEEN.

When you know yourself, you are empowered. When you accept yourself, you are invincible. - Author unknown
